Great news: Celebrating life's little Gifts!
My computed model of HCT (hematocrit) suggested that I could be well below 32 today - the temporary cutoff for phlebotomy. This would NOT be good news, because continuous IRON removal is key to eventual reduction of ongoing organ damage. But the 5th floor Angels delivered the good news: HCT was 37.2 (!) Not just a short delay, but a substantial comeback from the declining trend. Soooo... this old body continues to have surprises - and gives me some feeling that just perhaps, maybe, we may be able to make progress against the "iron devils". What is, is. But, sometimes, "what is" isn't what it seems.
Just a reminder to myself: there is no change in the Polycythemia Vera component of the blog. The PV moves ahead, continuously, with the work of unconstrained cloning of stem cells within the bone marrow, and the chemotherapy and phlebotomies simply keep the blood counts within normal ranges.
